Postpartum Support Group

What:

As a new mother, it can be challenging to navigate the changes that come with life after becoming a mommy. That's why we're here to offer a safe and supportive space specifically for Black mothers to come together and share their experiences, struggles, triumphs and resources.

What to expect:

Our group provides a safe space for you to connect with other Black mothers who understand the unique challenges of motherhood. We offer a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space to discuss issues such as postpartum depression, anxiety, breastfeeding, baby care/ development, grieving old self, self-care, relationships and more. Each group we will do a check in and discuss a new topic. This is NOT therapy but a support group. 

Who:

Groups will be facilitated by Dr. Kim LO, LCSW, PMH-C, mental wellness and holistic health therapist, trained birth doula, owner of Life Begins Here Therapeutic & Counseling Services, founder of The Melanated Mommy Tribe, wife and most importantly mom of two. 

She is experienced and compassionate about providing safe spaces for Black mothers to discuss the ups and downs of motherhood and she is dedicated to helping you navigate the ups and downs of being a new mom. 

Group criteria:

• This is an open group (may be different group members each session)
• Has a little one 4 years old or younger
• Identifies as a Black woman
• Looking for a community and safe space to feel seen, heard and validated in your motherhood experience.

Spaces are limited each week to keep the group intimate. Registration will be closed after 12 mommies register. 

Any mommies who register after the cut off of 12 will be placed into the next group opening with availability. 

However you can pay for groups in advance to secure your spot in multiple  groups.
